On November 18h, Marietta-based law firm Johnson & Alday (J&A) and Six Strings for a Cure will host a benefit concert at the historic Strand Theatre featuring the celebrated Atlanta-based 80s tribute band Forever Young. Doors for the VIP reception will open at 6:00 P.M., general admission at 7:00 P.M. with an opening DJ set to make sure everyone is walking like an Egyptian when the band hits the stage.
Forever Young rightly bills itself as an 80’s experience. From the soaring vocal melodies to the chorus-filled guitar solos of the decade, Forever Young delivers an unforgettable performance highlighting the best songs of the era that feels as good as the first time you laid eyes on Molly Ringwald! Featuring the classic songs of bands like Tears for Fears, Pat Benatar, Starship, Pet Shop Boys, Duran Duran, Mr. Mister, Cindy Lauper and more…every song will feel like you’re stepping back in time and wishing you were as cool as Ferris Bueller!
Since 2017, J&A partners Bobby Johnson and John Alday have brought Mike Cooley of the Drive-By Truckers, Rhett Miller of the Old 97s, and platinum-selling band Cracker to Marietta to raise money for the American Cancer Society, Communities in Schools, and McKenna Farms. These concerts have raised more than $30,000. In 2022, they are honored to once again sponsor a show benefiting McKenna Farms.
The goal of Six Strings For A Cure is to raise community voices for a worthy cause. This year's concert will benefit the fantastic work being done in our local community. McKenna Farms' mission is to provide innovative therapeutic programs and resources for children with special needs and their families. With over 23 therapists, they treat over 500 children (age zero to 21) every week. McKenna Farms provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as therapeutic riding on their horses. They offer these resources for children with autism, developmental delay, Down Syndrome, and any number of other needs. In addition, McKenna Farms is raising money to add aqua therapy to their therapeutic services for children throughout Cobb County and the metro area.
